Don’t you feel good when it comes to helping someone else out?
Volunteer work is a great experience. Volunteering a little bit of your time makes you feel so wonderful because you're helping someone out for a good cause. It will make positive outcomes towards you and others as well.
“I have enjoyed the experience of meeting new people, also getting new aspects,” said Makenna Percy, a Junior at Samueli Academy.
The benefits of volunteering are enormous towards you, your family, and your community. Volunteering can get you distracted when you are going through rough times or if you have problem with physical or mental health.
Volunteer work improves and strengthens communities and it also improves lives. You will meet new people and make good connections.
It’s a good way to get a head start on preparing for college. “It looks good in your college application, I even did up to 80 hours of volunteer work,” said Celeste Duran, a Freshman.
Parents and family members feel happy when their children or they volunteer. It makes them proud that their own kids are putting a good example to make the community around them a better place.
“I am proud when my children volunteer on their own and I am proud that they don't need me to tell them what's good and what they shouldn’t do,” said Greta Martinez, a resident of Santa Ana.
Samueli Academy students should help out the community in any way they can. It will look good on their resume and college applications. Plus, it will make their parents proud that they are making a positive influence on the community. So get out there and volunteer! Go Firewolves!
