When you think of art, what comes to mind? Out of all the types of art, did graffiti come to mind?
A majority of people disagree on graffiti not being art, I can even agree at times on the way it is used. What I greatly notice in modern day art, graffiti, is that it resembles vandalism.
Before art drastically changed into modern day “vandalism,” it supposedly originated by a high schooler who drew his passion for his lover by spray painting the walls in the city to get her attention. His art blasted later in the transformation and became really popular. Ethan Doyer, a very creative artist, said that art is something you create. Graffiti is also has the feeling and style that most crafts don’t have.
Graffiti is a very creative kind of art and had it’s own unique style when it comes to displaying the love for the street. Graffiti, like paintings, have multiple meanings and varies upon people. Although graffiti is very cool and can even James Sapien said that graffiti looks beautiful, graffiti does have its downside. Artist abuse the style of art and turn what once was very original, turn into what most people see, vandalism. To be completely fair to graffiti, is that people don’t see the good side to art rather seeing the good in it.
