Snap! The buckle on your suitcase popped open. “Growwwlll!” came the odd sound from your suitcase. You look around making sure that nobody heard. You close the buckle of your suitcase and slowly release the air that had been subconsciously trapped in your lungs, and with cautious steps you make your way towards the double doors. Once you’re in, the sweat that accumulated on the palm of your hands subsides. The swirling in your stomach is now tolerable. You find your seat as the lights dim and the previews start. The title: “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” scrolls across the screen.
*hands Jacob a helmet*
Newt Scamander: "Put this on."
Jacob Kowalski: "But why would I have to wear something like this?"
Newt Scamander: "Because your skull is susceptible to breakage under immense force.”

Fantastic beast takes place decades before harry Potter and half a world away. To be fairly honest the Harry Potter movies are amazing and thrilling. Fantastic beast doesn’t lack any of these traits. In facts if you love harry potter I can guarantee that you enjoy this franchise. But this movie is based more around the creature instead of the spells or potions or so bianca carino a freshman says.  “The movie is about wizards and mythical creatures from another dimension,” and no doubt about that. Newt Scamander travels to new york and during his stay he makes an acquaintance with Jacob, a no-mag. For those of you who don’t know what a no-mag  is, it’s basically a non wizard. A big switcheroo happens involving a crazy important suitcase and all of Newt’s creatures released into new york. He has a magic filled adventure trying to round them all up before they alert the media.“Critics Consensus: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them draws on Harry Potter's rich mythology to deliver a spinoff that dazzles with franchise-building magic all its own,” says rottentomatoes.com This movie recived a 6.8/10 for the same website.

This movie is in the genre Adventure, family, and fantasy. When watching this movie I found this to be very true. Although I watched this movie by myself I can definitely see my 9 year old brothers watching the movie and enjoying it. My mom and my dad like old movies, you know the ones with really bad graphics, but I think Fantastic Beast is a movie they will enjoy because it brings in the adventure that they adore so much.

I would give this movie a 10/10 because it was spot on and it met all my expectations.
Evelyn Gonzalez gives this movie “a 6/10 because the movie seems interesting” but not within her preference.
Brisa Garcia gives this movie a  10/10 because she enjoyed the plot of the movie.
Mr. Janisch gave this movie a 3/10 because these genres are not necessarily his favorite.

I really enjoyed the movie and you may too, but it all depends on what you like. Sure Harry Potter is great but you might not like this movie. Or you plain out just don’t like Harry Potter at all so you don’t give this movie a chance. Or you might not have known this movie is related to Harry Potter, but it’s okay!

“Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder,” as Margaret Wolfe Hungerford would say.
