This year had it’s up’s and down’s. Hashtags, vines, challenges, and many more things brought everyone together. “#grrmondays was my favorite hashtag this year,” said sophomore Carlos Gomez. “My favorite hashtag was #dontjudgeme,” said freshman, Leslie Lagunas. “I think it helped people not feel self-conscious and it encouraged everyone to be who they want to be.”
This year was the year where vines and challenges became very popular. One very popular challenge was the Don’t Judge challenge that was created to end body shaming. “I think that the challenge had good intentions,” said Luz Estrada. “It just depends on the way you take it.”
There is always someone who makes a big impact every year whether it’s because of something they said or because of something they did. “Caitlyn Jenner in my opinion made a big impact this year,” said Leslie. “She wasn’t afraid to follow her dreams and she didn’t care what others had to say.”
Other trends that were popular in 2015 were flannels, Nike roshes, and hoverboards.
Another year gone by. It is time to turn the page and look forward. There are many new things to come and new things to experience. One can only look back at memories and try reliving them as time passes by.
