Predictions made for the far future that come true are a rare occurrence. But when they do come true, it is miraculous and mystifying.
The Chicago Cubs won the World Series this year, which was surprising to fans because they hadn’t won in 108 years. Michael Lee however, had already foreseen this victory. He says he is not a psychic, but he predicted that the Cubs would win the Series in 2016, 23 years ago.
When he was a student in 1993 at Mission Viejo High School, his senior quote in the yearbook read, “Chicago Cubs. 2016 World Champions. You heard it here first.” Crazy right?
But where did this amazing prediction stem from? He told Chicago WGNTV News that it stemmed from a childhood dream. But what if magic or time machines really do exist? Samueli Academy has some ideas when it comes to that.
“I think the government is hiding secret technology from us because we can’t handle the truth”, says Spanish teacher Jill Linderwell.
Stephanie Cuevas, Samueli aid, agrees, stating “I saw a documentary on TV where they can tell what someone looks like based on their DNA.” So what would our fellow Firewolves do if they had their own time machine?
Mark Oregel, a freshman, says “If I had a time machine, I would go to my 7th grade self and tell myself to take school seriously and study more.”
Stephanie Cuevas, said she would go to the Victorian era in Britain. “They were so classy back then. I would live in the high class.”
Ms. Linderwell would go to ancient Egypt, saying “It would be interesting to see how all the pyramids and artifacts looked before they became ruins.”
In conclusion, magic and future technology may exist, and that would be amazing.
