“Music is just something that helps me escape and be totally free from everything,”says David Schmitt, a musician. Music can give a variety of feelings to each individual. It can make you feel thrilled, depressed, etc. Also, believe it or not, music is a great device to help you cope with struggles you’re going through, or just life in general. Music is heard all around the world and is used to express all the feelings you can think of.
Freshmen Andrea Quintana’s favorite song is Mercy, by Shawn Mendes. She listens to it every single day, probably more than 20 times. She states that it’s one of her favorite songs because “Shawn Mendes is my inspiration.” The beat of the song makes her feel happy, but the song also makes her cry because it makes her realize that she may never meet Shawn Mendes.
Rebeca Garcia, a freshman, says her favorite song is I Tried, by Bone Thugs N Harmony. She listens to this song everyday. She states that it’s one of her favorites because she can somewhat relate to the song. Her favorite part of the song is “... try to get away, but trouble follows me.”
Brisa Garcia, a freshman, says her favorite song is Set Fire to the Rain, by Adele. The song makes her feel relaxed and when she is listening to this song it makes her reflect on life. Her favorite part of this is “... But there’s a side to you that I never knew, never knew all the things you’d say, they were never true, never true.” To her, this song means that their is always a side to a person who you thought you knew, but as you get to know them, you find out who they truly are.
Music is in all types of language and expressed in many ways. You can listen to music whenever and wherever you want to. So, we can say that music will always be there for you.
