Samueli Academy's Senior Class of 2017
What’s next for the Seniors?
On January 16, 2018, there was a Senior meeting held to inform about the exciting events such as Sky Zone and Grad Night!
The Seniors within their advisory took the time to go to the meeting and learn about what it consists of and where these events are taken place.
“Selfishly, there is a lot of planning that goes into each of these events that a lot of students may not realize” exclaimed Mrs.G the Senior and Sophomore class counselor. The events are given as a reward for Seniors for their hard work after four years of challenging classes. It was also an event to inform the Seniors about the next step towards life after high school. Regardless, deadlines for financial aid and scholarships were part of the conversation.
Some of the listed events said during the meeting were Senior Picnic, Grad Night, Graduation, and Sky Zone!
“It’s your last couple of months being in this bubble before you are out in the real world and the real world can be mean sometimes and it can hit you in the face, might as well enjoy these moments.”Mrs.G Eventually, every High School student becomes a Senior. Going to a Senior meeting is where it starts off. You transition from completing college applications and just like Jenny states “It is basically where the fun begins.” Luckily our school gives us an option to apply for its scholarship and guidance from professional adults.
Most importantly, everyone including the other grades should be aware of these events and take note of how important it is to do the requirements to participate in these moments.
Overall, the meeting had lots of information not only about the special occasions but it’s meaning behind it, is a way to get us to truly bond with the Senior class and create memorable moments. “Even if you are skeptical of doing an activity, just do it.” Mrs.G
Ultimately, take the quotes we learned from will be taken to help us in the real world. These kinds of experiences will last, therefore “The staff could help us by preparing us for when we go into the real world.” Jenny Hernandez To help us in the long run and we will remember the people who hosted the meetings.
Many may say what’s next? College, internships, new friendships. Are the other grades ready? “The Sophomores or Juniors are most involved even though the Sophomores have not gotten the hang of it,” Mrs.G reveals, what is next for both grades in their next meeting.
