You may or may not know that Samueli Academy has a choir. To those of you who didn’t know, here’s some news: Samueli has a choir! Last Monday, December the 12th, they had their first concert in the Samueli Theatre at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa. The concert received rave reviews and stands as proof that dedication and hard work pays off.

Would you want a sibling here at school? Imagine someone who could be your best bud; Helping you out with homework or chores. They are always there if you're bored and ready to listen to you. Someone who is always home and even if you get in a fight, you always end up forgiving each other. Who does that sound like to you? Well, that’s what a sibling is. Siblings may sometimes be a pain in the butt, but they are not always like that. I mean they can be a jerk from time to time, but no matter what they always are there for you. In fact, we have quite a few siblings here at Samueli.

With the daunting and feared finals just around the corner, most students you ask aren't ready. They will tell you “There’s still plenty of time” and, “it’s nothing to worry about yet,” while also trying to hide the uncertainty and fear in their eyes. Many students are already stressing, but most are too afraid to ask for help in preparing for finals. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Here are some helpful tips on how to survive finals, and get a teacher on your side.

He gets up and stretches, he puts on his suit and tie and leaves for school on his way to the school he stops and gets his large mocha with extra whip cream and caramel from Starbucks. When he gets to school he unlocks his classroom and writes instructions on the board and and re-arranges his desks into groups for the school day. By the time second period ends he is already tired of students not doing their work; he has given out so many tutoring slips that his hand hurts. The next five periods are not much better. The final howl sounds and he takes a deep breath, then he starts figuring out what he will teach to his students tomorrow. Finally, he can leave, but what happens next?

October 28th is the Halloween Dance at Samueli and it’s time for the students, teachers, and staff members to have a good time! The Halloween Dance is a time for you and your friends to have fun and let loose! But you should also know that it’s a fundraiser for the seniors. At the Halloween Dance, you can talk with your friends, dance, and attempt to get through the haunted maze.

Some are sitting behind a desk, filing paperwork, some are action packed and helping out in different parts of a company. Internships range from many different situations, and all provide a valuable lesson in life. Here at Samueli Academy, an internship is a requirement to graduate. On Thursday, September 8th there was Internship Fair where juniors got a chance to talk with Seniors about their internship experience. There was a wide range of internships, from a daycare type internship to a business internship. But what do you have to do to prepare yourself for it?
